How to freeze avocado pulp
Before and after preparing fresh produce, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration recommends washing your hands with warm soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
01
Select ripe/ready to eat avocados to prepare for freezing

02
Wash avocados under running water with the skin still intact

03
Cut the avocados in half and remove the seed or pit
Safety tip: Remove the pit by gently working a spoon under the seed to separate it from the fruit.

04
Peel the avocado
Peel the fruit by cutting it in quarters and removing the skin, just like a banana. Also keep in mind that slightly unripe avocados will be harder to peel.
05
Take the avocado quarters and slice or dice them if you want to make it easier on your blender, then put them in a resealable freezer bag.
Ensure all air is removed from the bag before closing, sealing, and placing the bag in your freezer. We recommend using the frozen avocado pulp within a month.
06
Take out the frozen avocado pieces, put them in the blender with all your other smoothie ingredients, blend and enjoy!
Why add frozen avocado pulp to smoothies? Why not!
Avocados are essentially the only fruit with good fats, they are a good source of fiber and a nutrient-dense food.
Naturally good fats are important because the body needs some dietary fat to help with absorption of nutrients.
Dietary fiber adds bulk to the diet and can help you feel fuller faster and manage weight. Nutrient-dense foods are those that provide substantial amounts of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients with relatively few calories. One-third of a medium avocado (50 g) has 80 calories and contributes nearly 20 vitamins and minerals.
