02

03
Eating a diet rich in some vegetables and fruits, as part of an overall healthy diet, may protect against certain types of cancers. If your patient has cancer, eating avocado may help with nausea because it is easy on the stomach.
04
Avocados are made up of mostly water and fiber and are considered to be low-energy, dense fruits. Dietary fiber adds bulk to the diet and can help your clients feel fuller faster and help them manage weight.
05
A serving of avocado contains 136 micrograms of the antioxidant, lutein, which may help to prevent serious eye conditions such as age-related blindness and may protect or slow age-related cataracts.
06
Avocados are a good source of vitamin K, a nutrient that the body needs to stay healthy. Vitamin K is vital for blood clotting and healthy bones and also has other functions in the body.
07
Avocados are healthy and a good source of copper, an essential mineral that helps keep the blood vessels, nerves, immune system, and bones healthy.
08
One serving of avocado provides 6% of the Daily Value for vitamin E, which the body needs to keep the immune system strong against viruses and bacteria.
09
Fruit fiber, such as pectin, has been shown to promote a healthy gut. One-third of an avocado contains 1.2 grams of pectin and provides a good source of total dietary fiber.
10
When it comes to skin health, several nutrients are considered powerhouses — including vitamins C and E, and niacin. Per 50-gram serving, avocados provide 4% of the Daily Value for vitamin C and 6% of the Daily Value for vitamin E and niacin.
