Favorite way to eat fresh avocados? My favorite way to eat avocados is with others—especially my daughter, and by extension family, friends, and anyone gathered around a good table. There’s something about sharing food that makes it taste better.
If we’re talking recipes, I love turning avocados into a silky, spa-style chocolate mousse—a recipe I’ve been making for years, long before it became a trend. I first served it at a wellness spa, where guests were always surprised to learn avocado was the base. It’s decadent yet nourishing, and it doubles beautifully as a dip for strawberries or pretzels.
On the savory side, I lean into simplicity: smashed avocado on toasted sourdough with a drizzle of olive oil, flaky Maldon sea salt, crushed red pepper, and a squeeze of lemon. Whether sweet, savory, or straight from the skin, avocados are a staple in our household. They’re even delivered to my door—two dozen at a time—by Alex, our friendly neighborhood Hass avocado guy. Avocados are always welcome here, and always better when shared.
