Recipe Description:

Support a healthier gut by adding more antioxidant-rich foods like strawberries and fiber-licious options like avocados to your meals. This Strawberry Avocado Salsa puts a fruity twist on traditional salsa by swapping out tomatoes for juicy strawberries. Sweet, savory, and vibrant, it’s perfect as a dip with chips or served over grilled chicken or fish for a burst of color and fresh flavor.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. strawberries, chopped
  • 1 jalapeno, seeded and chopped
  • 1/2 cup red onion, chopped
  • 1/3 cup cilantro, coarsely chopped
  • Juice from 1 lime
  • 2 ripe, fresh avocados, halved, pitted, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • Sea salt, to taste
  • Black bean tortilla chips, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Chop the strawberries, jalapeno, onion, and avocados. Add to a bowl and toss with the juice from 1 lime, chili powder, cilantro, and sea salt.

Notes & Tips:

This salsa would also be a great accompaniment to baked or grilled chicken or fish.
