This classic guacamole will be a hit at your Cinco de Mayo fiesta.

Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe, fresh avocados, halved, pitted and peeled (about 8 oz.)
  • 1 Tbsp. fresh lime juice
  • 1 small tomato, seeded, chopped, well drained
  • 1/4 cup green onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
  • 1 Serrano chile, chopped
  • 3/4 tsp. fresh oregano, chopped, or 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • tortilla chips

Instructions:

  1. Cut avocados into 1/2 inch cubes.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine avocados and lime juice.
  3. Fold in tomato, green onion, cilantro, chile, oregano, and salt.
  4. To store, place a piece of plastic wrap directly on the surface of the guacamole and refrigerate.
  5. Serve with tortilla chips.
